Beauty

Beauty of nature is rarely seen these days. With all the sky scrapers and highways, we rarely notice the natural beauty of our home. Don't get me wrong, i'm a city kid and would probably die within 3 nights in a jungle. But i do feel sad sometimes waking up every morning to the rumbling of cars instead to the chirps of birds. Feel disheartened that my 1st view every morning is the dry sight of Kesas Highway instead of trees and families of squirrels.

Anyway, the picture above was taken on the night of October the 9th 2011. It was beautiful and reminded me how pretty our world can be if you look past certain things. Even in the thickest of concrete jungles, traces of our origins are still there waiting to be found.

Now on to my updates, i know i haven't been blogging as much as i intended to when i started the blog. I just haven't had much time and hadn't much stuff to blog about. My SPM trials just ended by the way. I sorta did better than expected. Really surprising and kinda lucky too i guess. Didn't fail any subjects this time and got a few As for subjects i don't usually score in.

So yeah, I'm pretty happy with my results but gotta get myself motivated to study again. Only 2 months left as a high school student. Just gotta hang in there.

In other news, the Rugby World Cup has gone into the knock out stages with the quarter-finals being concluded today. I always see myself as a sports fan and try to pick up knowledge on as many sports as possible. But i too was impressed by how fluid and how free flowing rugby could be. Although, i think i would enjoy it much more if i had a better understanding of the rules. However, Australia and New Zealand are set to meet in the semis next weekend. Should be a good match. Looking forward to it.

So this is all for my updates this time around. Till next time. See ya!

Updates

Just a quick update after not blogging for ages.

School had a mini edu fair the other day. Basically was a good chance for me to get my future sorted out. From what i see, AUSMAT is the way to go. Sunway looks to be the most probable destination. One of the reasons for this is because their AUSMAT course has a Psychology subject on its own. I was always interested with this subject but i never knew why. There are loads of things for me to be against it :- bio related, lack of job options, possible loads of reading, etc....

Still, i was always intrigued by how people's minds think and how it affects their actions. I'm definitely not gonna be one of those medical psychologist where i study mental illness and such. I wanna learn how to motivate people, how to set specific environments that encourages growth, i wanna learn how to make an underdog feel like he/she can take on the world. I wanna be a Sports Psychologist!

But as i said, job opportunities are few to be honest, i'm still keeping that on hold though. A few other options such as the increasingly less likely Journalism path i once really wanted. Now it feels like a drag to even update my blog. Can't imagine having to write articles on a structured basis.

Anyways, a huge spanner has been thrown into my plans as i got selected for National Service. This must be the 100th time i'm saying this, but i actually don't mind getting selected if i were to be scheduled in the 1st batch. But then again, that would mean entering college around March and i'll be 3 months behind the rest of the class so can't really tell how i feel about it now. Don't wanna be those stuck up kinds that goes "yea i got selected for NS, but not going cuz i got plans already". Always felt as though those kinds were spolit and pampered. Sorry, just an opinion.

Final IR day.

So this was my final IR day as an SMKSJ Leo. To be honest, i worked the hardest i ever did for an IR because this was my last, but i still feel as though i contributed nothing. -.- BUT, anyways, i still had a blast, the preparation was all worth it and at the end of the day, we were all beyond tired.

I spent the night before IR out with Mei Shia, Dev and Shang Qin. We went to Pyramid to shop for stuff concerning the IR. I tagged along with the girls for about and hour before realising they were just going round and round Asian Avenue looking for their dresses. So after i got a little bored, me and Shang Qin went to have dinner at Mc'Ds and then we went off to find out shirts for the IR. We went around various shops. Funny. No matter what brand or what shop the prices are either, RM189 ; RM119 ; RM89 or RM59. It was 8 times out of 10 priced at one of these.I finally settled for a blue-ish denim-ish coloured shirt i found by Padini in Parkson. I then met up with the girls to help me choose my tie which ended up being greyish blue-ish in colour.

Well on the the big day, the whole morning people were busy decorating, everyone was stressed and everyone was tired. The big event then started at around 4pm due to minor delays. It started of with our very own opening act performed by seniors of the club. The next act was a dance performance by the boys of Lasalle PJ. Then on to the vocal performances of a few singers from SJ. Then we had 1 game and then an interval. After the break, 2 band performances. One of the band members came to ask if i was Karen's brother. Haha apparently he was an ex-student that knew my sister. After that, an awesome beatbox performance by Seafield students and then concluded with an epic dance performance by some Leos from different schools.

Overall i think it was a success, i was reading a few comments about it on Facebook and Twitter as i got back and pleased that majority of the people liked it. Sorry for my lackluster review + the lateness of it. I hate writing recaps of events, usually because i know it is usually boring to anyone that actually went for the event. Anyways, i will stop now and just let pictures tell the story. Credits to various photographers at the event =)

On another note, Man United also signed an up and coming goalkeeper to help ease the departure of Van Der Sar. The Dutchman will be hard to replace but this guy seems decent enough and certainly time is on his side at an age of just 20. He looks like a good buy and the news have been circling for ages now. The deal looked as though it would never be finish but finally he put pen to paper. Welcome Man United, David De Gea. Trophies won't be far now.
